Childcare
WEF placements in childcare include working with children in a kindergarten, school, special needs center, or care center for mothers and babies. Fellows participate in local projects on early childhood development education and contribute in making a difference in the lives of children from underprivileged communities. Childcare fellows are passionate to make a difference in a child’s life and are committed to child development.
Education
WEF education placements range from child education to post-secondary learning in both public and private institutions as well as local organizations aiming at promoting education in underprivileged groups. Our fellows contribute at different levels and sectors of education including languages, arts, sciences and research to support the delivery of different education programsand to promote education for all in different parts of the world.
Environmental
WEF placements in Environment and Conservation enable fellows to support marine conservation, jungle conservation, coastline conservation and sustainable organic farming efforts within communities abroad. Fellows work closely with local organizations and community members to support both proactive and reactive methods of protecting our natural environment. Fellows engage with environmentalists, scientists and local communities to contribute to conservation and protection of some of the most vulnerable habitats in the world. Environment placements duties vary depending on fellow passion and expertise and host organization needs.
Finance
By working with micro-finance institutions, small businesses and upcoming entrepreneurs, our fellows get to share financial knowledge and skills in areas such tax income, finance literacy and helping small businesses in different parts of the world. Fellows get to learn about the local business environments and participate in supporting them to becoming profitable additions to local communities, hence helping business owners make real change.
Human Rights
WEF placements in Human Rights provide fellows with opportunities to provide their expertise toward improving the lives of the individuals impacted by human rights violations in different parts of the world. Fellows get to work with local organizations and institutions whose aim is to promote and protect the Human Rights of the most vulnerable groups including women, children and minority groups who continue to live under the threat of abuse and discrimination.
Medicine and Health
WEF placements in health vary across the spectrum of specific health fields and qualification levels. Fellows are paired with health institutions, global health organizations and community groups in different health areas, including HIV, maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health, elderly care, community health promotion, family medicine, mental health and addictions, dentistry, healthcare education, nutrition among others.Fellows get to advancetheir careers while utilizing their skills to help a community in need.
Sports
WEF placements in sports focus on supporting physical education, incorporating sports wellbeing initiatives and using sports to bringing communities together through teamwork and communication. Fellows have opportunities to participate in sports placements that match their sporting skills and interests. Choices vary from coaching football in schools to participating in yoga sessions in work places.
Women Empowerment
WEF placements in Women Empowerment contribute to the long-term goal of assisting social change and creating an inclusive society in which women have equal rights and are able to access education, healthcare and employment opportunities. Fellow work can include empowering women through building confidence, developing financial independence, fostering entrepreneurship skills and growing strong female in different parts of the world.
