Financial Literacy and the Evaluation of Microfinance Impact on Women’s Well-being
Microfinance loans help empower women, and they are often safer investments for those loaning the funds. Numerous impact evaluation studies support the effectiveness of microfinance and its impact on poverty and on women empowerment. Fewer studies have evaluated the impact of microfinance on women’s wellbeing and what it means to rely on microfinances for poverty reduction. Women Explorers Fellowship works with organization and microfinance institutions to assess the level of debt burden on women and the performance of microfinance institutions to address such burdens for overall women’s well-being. Opportunities available in Bangladesh and Rwanda.
